After school I served four years in the USCG - then four years as an apprentice boatbuilder.  I then worked boats until I retired in 2002.  Now I'm fishing.

Clifford Dale Ziska, 73, known as "Dale", passed away on Nov. 11, 2014, at his home.  He was born May 25, 1941, to James "Cliff" and Edna "Rowena" Ziska in Walla Walla.  His graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. 2nd Ave., Walla Walla.  Afterward friends and family are invited to gather at Christ Lutheran Church, 1420 S. 2nd Ave., Walla Walla.





Dale attended Paine School, Garrison Jr. High School and Walla Walla High School.  He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Aug. 25, 1959, and was honorably discharged as a corporal on Aug. 23, 1963, having served his country for four years.  





He married Jeanne Elaine Wilson on Sept. 18, 1966, in Walla Walla.  He was employed at Western Electric, Pacific Northwest Bell, U.S. West and Quest as an installer, retiring Dec. 30, 2001.





Dale loved horses and volunteered for many years at the fair.  He participated in opening the timed event chute.  For the last 10 years he helped his friend Mike Oertel on Saturday afternoons at Ralph and Mikes.  He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, East End Rod & Gun Club and the NRA.





Dale is survived by his wife, Jeanne Elaine Wilson Ziska; daughter. Suzanne Lena Howard; and son, James Paul Ziska.  He is preceded in death by his parents; and stepmom, Adeline Killin Chenoweth Ziska.





Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, "Building Fund" and the Good Samaritan Ministries through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
