Deceased

Polly was born January 15, 1941 and passed away March 21, 1995 in Marion County, OR

Polly attended WSU until her marriage to Bob Miller in Aug. 1963. The couple resided in Berlin, Germany for several years while Bob was serving in the US Army. This was the time of the building of the Berlin Wall; it was an immensely depressing environment, with many bombed out buildings left from WWII. While there, Elaine and Steve Knapp visited Polly in '65, meeting in Venice - they had a wonderful time traveling together into Greece and Turkey.

Polly was also married to Allen Struthers - they lived near Portland, Oregon, where Allen was involved in the timber industry. During this time, Polly and Allen had great fun restoring antique furniture found in remote lumber towns, designing a beautiful country house, and training horses. Polly was a gifted horsewoman with her horses winning in halter classes as well as in Standard Bred classes at the San Francisco Cow Palace.
Polly was friendly, enthusiastic and talented in whatever endeavor she put her mind to, whether it was to organize an office, decorate a home, planting gardens, or sharing her love of animals.
She died tragically in March of 1995.
